Entitlement for the Graduate Card is not automatic. It is necessary to be a registered member of the graduate website Alumni Network at VSB ‒ Technical University of Ostrava, however, you still need to apply here. The Graduate Card offers a range of interesting benefits provided by the university, its partners, and commercial entities throughout the Czech Republic.
A free plastic Graduate card can only be gotten by those students who have received their red (honours) diploma for their excellent study results. This has been entitled to all graduates from VSB-TUO since 2016. A prerequisite is being registered in the graduate network and applying for the graduate card within six months after graduation (after the state exam). After this period, the entitlement to a free graduate card expires. After logging in, the system automatically recognizes whether you are entitled to a free card or not. Based on this criterion, you will be offered an opportunity to obtain your graduate card.
Digital card is for free and the validity is unlimited (you only need your account in Alumni network active).
Yes, since March 2017 you have the option to join the network. When registering, please use the second option.
Unfortunately, not. The graduate card belongs to benefits that can only be used by holders of a bachelor, master or doctoral degree from VSB ‒ Technical University of Ostrava.
You can continue to use plastic Card issued by September 30 2023 without the valid Alive license. Within the partnerships and university benefits, you need only your account in Alumni network active.
In case you are interested in Alive benefits or you want to have digital form of your card, just apply for it.
Validity of the card is formally set from the date of issue to the end of the calendar year, but with your active account in Alumni it will be extended by a year.
You need plastic card if you want to visit Central Library VSB-TUO, print, scan, copy at the university, eat in university canteens or use Wifi Eduroam network.
For other university, partner or Alive benefits digital card is sufficient.
