New unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic to facilitate international partnerships

During a gathering with representatives from the Chamber of Commerce of the Moravian-Silesian Region, as well as businesses and universities, Kozák unveiled the potential of diplomacy in supporting their commercial and international aspirations. The recently established Department of Science Diplomacy will assist enterprises and academic institutions, serving as an information hub for scientific and research organisations. Its primary objective is to showcase Czech research and development capabilities to global partners.

"I greatly appreciated receiving this information. The Department of Science Diplomacy can play a crucial role in assisting us with identifying potential partners for consortia interested in pursuing international projects. We have reached an agreement that they will support us in finding partners, whether from research institutions or the business community, particularly in the areas of science and research that align with our strategic focus and are targeted by European projects. Our collaboration through the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Applied Artificial Intelligence for Materials & Manufacturing at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, which I presented to the Deputy Minister and his team, aligns perfectly with this concept," said Jana Kukutschová, Vice-Rector for Science and Research at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO).

Jiří Kozák paid a visit to the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center at VSB-TUO, where he got acquainted with the operations of the three supercomputers present, including Karolina, which is the most powerful and largest supercomputer in the country.
