VSB-TUO showcases Energy in Transition - Powering Tomorrow travelling exhibition: a glimpse into the future of energy
The Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) at VSB-TUO is making a significant contribution to energy transition and sustainability.

In cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Prague and the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform, it takes great pride in introducing a travelling digital exhibition "Energy in Transition - Powering Tomorrow." This inspiring exhibition will be on display on the campus of the largest university in the Moravian-Silesian Region from 16 to 27 October 2023.

The opening of the exhibition took place on 17 October in the Circle Auditorium (Building C) at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO) and was honoured by the presence of a number of distinguished guests. In addition to the Rector of VSB-TUO, Václav Snášel, and the Director of CEET, Stanislav Mišák, we were privileged to hear speeches from Anne Glumm, the Head of the Economics, Climate and Science Division, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Vladislav Kolarik, Deputy Director of FIP-AI@VSB-TUO. "I am glad that VSB-TUO, which is a leader in the transformation of the Moravian-Silesian Region, can host this exhibition," rector Snášel added during his opening speech.

Prior to the official opening of the exhibition, a roundtable discussion was held with the participation of the University Management to discuss key aspects of energy transformation and sustainability. In addition to the exhibition opening itself, the participants were given an exclusive tour of the new CEETe polygon, set for its grand opening on 23 October.

The aim of this SMART exhibition is to open a dialogue with the public on the global energy transition. The exhibition is divided into several parts, presenting different perspectives on energy and sustainabilityfrom national governments, society, the private sector and the scientific community. It is no secret that the world is striving to limit the rise in global temperature and reduce emissions by 2050, and this exhibition offers interested parties a look at different approaches to this global challenge.

Energy is one of the key research areas at VSB-TUO. The University's scientists are working on highly topical issues that are of major importance not only for our Region, but also for the whole country and the European Commission, as our work reflects the Green Deal strategy.
