"The aim of the courses is to develop research thinking, competencies in science and research management, and research communication and presentation, and to help participants with their personal and career growth. We have prepared several innovations, but we will repeat previous successful courses," said Lucie Hofrichterová, administrator of the PhD Academy.
One of the most popular lecturers is Sam Illingworth from Edinburgh Napier University and his course Making an Impact with Your Research, was very well received. In the forthcoming semester, unlike the previous one, it will be held online. On the other hand, PhD students will have the opportunity to meet in person Conor O'Carroll, an independent consultant on research and higher education policy and Chair of the European Steering Group on Human Resources and Mobility, who will enrich the PhD Academy program with his third course, called Research Career Planning.
In addition, there will be two brand-new workshops Decision Making and Mindset by neurologist, motivational speaker, and former research fellow at Harvard Medical School Nikoloz Tarielashvili.
A very popular course by the University Library, LibGuide: The Library Guide to Academic Writing, is now available in English, both for Czech and international students.
The PhD Academy will also host the second Scientific Writing Camp (23. - 24.4. 2024).
