Professor Seyedali Mirjalili will strengthen the FEECS team at VSB-TUO as part of Project Refresh.

Professor Seyedali Mirjalili, one of the most internationally recognized and highly-cited experts in Artificial Intelligence, has joined the REFRESH project team. In the Industry 4.0 & Automotive Living Lab, he aims to apply machine learning and optimization approaches while working with colleagues from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FEI) at the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava.

"My decision to join the REFRESH project was based on my passion for sustainable engineering and the opportunity to work with such a renowned team at the VSB which offers a unique infrastructure and equipment and, thanks to that, the opportunity to work with real-time data. Moreover, VSB-TUO has strong links with industry partners, which provides an exciting chance to implement research results into real-life situations. This project falls within my research interests and offers a platform for me to contribute towards meaningful progress in this area," said Seyedali Mirjalili.

He has published over 600 papers that have received more than 110,000 citations and H-index of 110. He has repeatedly been on the list of the world's most cited researchers and in 2021 The Australian newspaper recognized him as the top researcher in Australia in three fields: Artificial Intelligence, Evolutionary Computation, and Fuzzy Systems.
