New Sustainability-Focused Course for Educators: The BUP Teachers’ Course 2024-2025

A sustainability-focused course for higher education teachers, organized under the Baltic University Programme (BUP), will provide participants with practical tools for integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into their teaching. As a BUP member, VSB-TUO offers its educators free participation. The application deadline is August 19, 2024.

The Baltic University Programme (BUP) announces a new course for higher education teachers, to be held in the 2024-2025 academic year. This course, organized by BUP Finland, focuses on improving the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the 2030 Agenda into teaching methods in higher education. Participants will receive tools on how to practically integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their own teaching and study programs.

The primary emphasis is on Goal 4 – Quality Education; however, the course also includes fundamental information on sustainable development, with a focus on ESD and teaching methodology, including e-learning and peer learning. A key outcome of the course will be the development of a "Change project," which each participant will create, aimed at integrating ESD into an existing or future course.

The course is free of charge for participants from universities that are members of BUP; for other applicants, a fee applies. The course includes two in-person workshops: the first will take place on October 8-10, 2024, at Åbo Akademi University in Finland, and the second is planned for February/March 2025.

VSB-TUO is a member of BUP, which allows its educators to participate in the course free of charge. The application deadline is August 19, 2024. Don’t hesitate to apply!
