On Friday, 20th September 2024, a significant event for the future of mobility took place, attended by Czech President Petr Pavel and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, ministers from both countries, high-ranking government officials, rectors of VSB-TUO and Brno University of Technology, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and other VIPs. VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, represented by rector Václav Snášel, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hyundai Motors Company, the Korea Planning and Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), and the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH). The university is preparing concrete collaboration topics on the platform of the Czech-Korean Research Center.
The cooperation will focus on the development of future mobility technologies, including cooperative automated driving systems, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) communication artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber security (CS).
The partnership also encompasses joint international R&D projects, technical workshops, expert exchanges, and identifying new areas of collaboration.
