The guests of the first FEECS Journal Club in the new academic year, which took place on 8 October, were Tomáš Inspektor, Head of the Science, Research and Education Support Department, and Robert Šamárek from the Strategic Analysis Department of the Vice-Rectorate of R&D. During their lectures they presented bibliometrics, what it is used for and its applications. They also focused on basic bibliometric data, such as impact factor, AIS or SJR, and the methodology of evaluation of science and research. The participants of the meeting got acquainted with the Science and Research Portal, which presents some bibliometric indicators of journals and outputs of science and research of the University.
The Journal Club is a form of gathering of students, academics and professionals from research centres. The first Journal Club meeting took place last spring. The next FEECS Journal Club will take place on Nov. 5 and will focus on proper writing and patent filing.
