The project focused on long-term monitoring of the chemical composition and microbial contamination of grey water in a residential building. In addition to standard contamination parameters, micropollutants, which include substances contained in repellents, tensides used in washing, musk compounds and detergent components, were also analysed.
Based on the analyses, strategies for efficient use and recycling of grey water can be optimized, which can lead to more sustainable water resource management in urban areas. The research results provide new insights for improving grey water treatment technologies, especially in terms of removing micropollutants that have not been sufficiently considered in conventional treatment processes.
