The 10th Inter Hranice 2024 exercise brought together students and experts from the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia to tackle a simulated crisis scenario: a railway accident involving the release of hazardous substances into the atmosphere in the Czech-Polish border region.
Participants included:
3rd-year students of the Civil Protection and Crisis Management program at FBI/VŠB-TU Ostrava
Students from the National Security Department (KBN) at UP Słupsk
Virtually joined by students from the Technical University of Košice
Exercise highlights:
Coordination of public administration activities on national and international levels
Collaboration of emergency services in mitigating the consequences of the accident
Simulation of crisis team communication and decision-making processes

Significance of the exercise:
Inter Hranice 2024 once again highlighted the importance of international cooperation in crisis management. Students had the unique opportunity to engage in real-time crisis response and learn from seasoned professionals.
