Field Trip: Future Forces International Exhibition 2024

In October 2024, students of the course Technical Equipment of Security Services attended the international Future Forces International Exhibition. The event showcased the latest trends in security technologies, CBRN, autonomous systems, drones, and anti-drone defense.

Future Forces International Exhibition is an international exhibition where exhibitors showcase innovations and new developments in the fields of security technologies, CBRN, autonomous systems, drones and anti-drone defense, military equipment, and their industries. Exhibitors presented their products and offered individual demonstrations to provide visitors with a better understanding of the showcased technologies.

In the area of anti-drone defense, manufacturers displayed jamming towers capable of detecting the presence of a drone within approximately two kilometers, disrupting the connection between the drone and its operator, and subsequently taking control of the drone to force it to land at a predefined location. They also offered portable versions consisting of drone signal detection devices and anti-drone rifles, which disrupt the drone’s signal but only in the direction they are aimed.

Autonomous systems also played a significant role. These included turret systems that could be equipped with standard rifles or rocket launchers. These turrets are capable of distinguishing allies from enemies and then targeting and firing. For enhanced base security or reconnaissance purposes, advanced camera systems were showcased, which could be transported and positioned even in mountainous terrain.

There were also arms manufacturers and gunsmiths presenting new models and innovations. Visitors could handle the weapons, learn about their pricing, and explore configuration options.

In the CBRN sector, manufacturers introduced protective suits and respiratory masks with filters, which could be adapted to the specific chemicals they might encounter.

A portion of the exhibition was dedicated to the Czech Army, Police, and Fire Brigade. Visitors could engage in discussions with personnel and inquire about their experiences with new technologies. Police, military, and firefighting vehicles were also on display, ranging from surveillance vans with thermal cameras to traffic police sports cars and armored vehicles of the Czech Army. Most vehicles were accessible to visitors, who could ask about their equipment. This section of the exhibition also featured demonstrations by the prison service, including a simulation of prisoner transport. A tactical demonstration by a special operations unit focused on urban combat using ground drones. The demonstration showcased the unit’s tactics for clearing rooms.
