Introducing U!REKA partners: Edinburgh Napier University

The reading series on our partner universities continues. This time we will introduce you to the first of our associate partners - Edinburgh Napier University, which is located in Scotland.

Edinburgh Napier University is the best higher education institution in Scotland according to THE World University Rankings. This is confirmed by students who have voted it the best university for overall satisfaction for the fifth year in a row. The university is also a leader in research in Scotland and is among the top 5 UK universities in terms of career prospects.

At Edinburgh Napier University you will study at one of five vocational schools:

  • Business School
  • School of Applied Sciences

  • School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment
  • School of Health and Social Care

Research at Edinburgh Napier University

Research at Edinburgh Napier University generates high-quality knowledge that contributes to the development of social, cultural and economic life. Examples of successful research projects include the introduction of a national blood pressure monitoring service, the preservation of mangrove forests in Kenya or the creation of the world's first mountain bike innovation centre.

The University has three campuses in Edinburgh that provide excellent facilities for study, science and research:

  • The Craiglockhart Campus combines historical elements with modern spaces and offers stunning views across the city.
  • The Merchiston Campus is home to students from engineering, construction, computing and creative fields. It houses computer labs (including games), newsrooms, TV, radio and photography studios.
  • The Sighthill Campus is the largest of the campuses, serving more than 5,000 students and staff at the School of Applied Sciences and the School of Health & Social Care. There is a training hospital, sports labs and a sports centre.
