The lecture entitled “Monitoring and Visualization of Automation in Industry and Buildings Using the PI System Software Tool” offered students a practical insight into how to effectively monitor operations, visualize processes and ensure data connectivity across technology systems and communication protocols.
"It wasn't just about theory - the key was to show real projects, specific architectures and how to connect technologies in practice. This gave students a glimpse into the environment they will encounter as future engineers in manufacturing companies or in the design of intelligent buildings," explains Jan Vaňuš, who coordinated the expert lecture.
The presented PI System is one of the leading tools for real-time data collection, storage, analysis and presentation. In a corporate environment, it is used to optimize process management, increase efficiency and respond more quickly to operational fluctuations.
"We want students to know that data connectivity is not just about connecting sensors and controllers. It is a complex ecosystem where every interface, protocol and visualization tool has its own importance. And it's important to understand these connections before they go into practice," adds Vaňuš.
The program included live demonstrations of PI System implementation and an open discussion during which students could consult specific problems and technical details with an AVEVA expert.
