Lukáš Kaboň focuses mainly on reportage and sports photography.
He won the Sports Photography competition, which is announced annually by the Club of Sports Journalists of the Czech Republic, twice in 2019. He won in the Sport - Series category thanks to a series of images from the European Women's Softball Championship. He received the jury's prize - an honorable mention - for his shot from the goal area, taken during the World Para Hockey Championships.
In 2020, he was the winner of the 26th edition of the prestigious photography competition Czech Press Photo in the category of Current Affairs. He has also been cooperating for a long time with the international news photo agency Anadolu Agency, for which he covers events in the Czech Republic.
In 2022, he won second place in the 28th Czech Press Photo in the Arts and Culture category for his image from the Colours of Ostrava festival. He also received the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Award for a series of photographs of a humanitarian train to Ukraine.
The Club of Sports Journalists (KSN) awarded his images from the European Under-19 Women's Football Championships held in Ostrava in July 2022 with first place in the Collegiate Sports category.
In the Czech Press Photo 2023 competition, he won second place in the Reportage category for his images from the funeral of a Ukrainian soldier in Kiev and was awarded the Samsung Prize for his photos from the Pro Tour Elite category beach volleyball tournament in Ostrava.
In 2024, the Club of Sports Journalists (KSN) awarded him first place for his picture from the Olympic Games in Paris, which shows the joy of Tomáš Macháč and Kateřina Siniaková after winning the mixed doubles.
