Science is art. And art is science. VSB – Technical University of Ostrava invites the public to the 10th anniversary of the Art & Science Festival, taking place on September 4, 2025, on the university campus in Ostrava-Poruba. As always, admission is free.
The festival was launched in 2015 with the goal of showing that a technical university is not only about numbers and calculations – but also about creativity, experiences, and inspiration. Over the past ten years, Art & Science has become a significant event at the intersection of science popularization, art, and cultural life.
What’s in store this year?
The morning program is designed for primary and secondary school pupils, while the afternoon is open to students, alumni, staff, and the general public. Throughout the day, visitors will explore the fascinating world of science through interactive demonstrations, technical workshops, experiments, and hands-on activities. All faculties and research centers of VSB-TUO will participate in the program, including IT4Innovations, the Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies, and the Career Centre.
On the main stage, you'll see performances by the VSB-TUO Orchestra, popular singer-songwriter Tom Artway, and the energetic band Děda Mládek Illegal Band. Visitors can also enjoy art workshops, exhibitions, and various accompanying events.
Art & Science Festival 2025 is not just a celebration of science and art – it’s also proof that a university can be a vibrant, open space for dialogue, creativity, and inspiration across generations.
