Under the supervision of Dr. Piotr Jachimowicz, the students focused on cultivating various algae species and studying their response to micropollutants, such as pesticides and antibiotics, which are commonly present in water and can enter aquatic ecosystems. For their measurements, they utilized the equipment of the Large Research Infrastructure ENREGAT.
The internship provided the students with hands-on experience, the opportunity to learn new laboratory techniques, and exposure to international research collaboration. In addition to standard laboratory work, they also worked with the ZEISS Axioscope 5 optical microscope and captured the beauty of the underwater micro-world in their own drawings.
