As part of the U!REKA European University Alliance, the first online session of the international COIL course From Busy to Balanced: Self-Leadership in Practice took place on 29 October 2026. The course is organized through a collaboration between VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
A total of 55 students from the partner universities participated in the opening session. The Faculty of Safety Engineering (FSE) at VSB-TUO was represented by students from the bachelor's degree programme Civil Protection and Crisis Management and the master's degree programme Safety Planning, who had the opportunity to collaborate in an international environment and communicate in English.
The first session focused on the fundamentals of self-leadership, personal development, and effective management of academic and professional challenges. Students particularly appreciated the opportunity to cooperate with international peers, the interactive learning format, and the practical orientation of the course.
